ABOUT ME

Helena Escauriaga is a graduate of Emily Carr University of Art and Design, with a degree in Bachelor of Media Arts in 2D Animation. She was born in Vancouver, BC, surrounded by a family of artists and a strong Filipino-Canadian community that has greatly shaped her interests.

 

Often found reading comic books past her bedtime or huddled in a corner playing video games, she grew up influenced by the heroic, the adventurous, and the fantastical. As an adult, not only does she want to explore the world, she intends to explore the worlds she will create. Her style morphs along with her subject matter, ranging from humorous cartoons, to stylized experimentation.

 

You can probably find her, still in Vancouver, clambering rocks on a mountainside or melting into the couch with her favourite Zelda game.
